"To me, if life boils down to one thing, it's movement. To live is to keep moving."
Bodyschema is a home for exceptional movement education in Denver. With attention and playfulness, we explore movement through a process of inquiry, observation, and dynamic action. Whether your goal is to build strength and endurance, climb 14-ers’, run miles into old age, achieve full recovery from injuries, or simply have more flexibility and ease in your body and mind, let Bodyschema be your guide.
Movement has taken Ashley from NYC to SF, through New Zealand and currently to the beautiful state of Colorado. A fully Certified Comprehensive Pilates Instructor and 500 HR Yoga Instructor, she has been practicing and teaching for nearly 15 years. Over those years she has had the pleasure to teach; Olympic athletes, dancers, polio survivors, mothers to be and mothers of all ages, nurses, receivers of bionic limbs, those recovering from brain injuries, models, office workers, you name it.
Ashley has taught in New York City at Mark Morris Dance Center, Bridge Pilates, and Sixth Street Pilates; in San Francisco at Real People Pilates and The San Francisco Bay Club; on the faculty of the Bates Dance Festival and the American Dance Festival; as well as internationally presenting workshops to fellow teachers and movers alike.
Using the tools of Yoga and Pilates, we do what you don’t ordinarily do, so that you can do what you want.
Private lessons with a qualified teacher are invaluable. They are essential to developing and deepening a movement practice. For newer students, privates offer a slower pace and a safe space to ask questions and avoid injuries. For more experienced practitioners, privates provide the relationship and the tools to navigate the questions that arise from a regular, consistent practice. Depending on your needs, private lessons range from assistance through injury and individual inquiry to guidance through personal goals and mentoring for professionals.
